Hiraya is my passion project. It is the amalgamation of all my dreams and interests in the arts and the sciences. I co-created this with my friend, Liv Licardo, who heads most of the writing while I work on the visuals.

Hiraya was originally conceptualized as a bimonthly magazine that publishes articles and art on science and technology. However, we are currently trying to expand Hiraya into including more creative projects regarding the sciences.
These are some of the iterations of the shorthand Hiraya logo, until I ended up with the rightmost output, which is currently our official logo.
This is the (compiled) publication material I made to introduce Hiraya to the world.
Liv and I created decided to make the first issue all about astronomy and outer space.
All visuals were made by me; both layout and illustrations.
You can download our pilot issue at our Gumroad.
The second issue (this time with a team of writers and artists collaborating together) focused on the theme of science for society. The cover was illustrated by Simone Nouelle Ladiana, and the science communication article (shown in the above preview) was illustrated by Jhan Conrad Hermano. I worked on the layout.

You can download this issue at Gumroad.
I illustrated for the articles shown above: one about blue light, and the other about the Philippines' drug war in relation to the rat part experiment. Layout by me.
